About Dash

Dash is the initiative of Lisette du Plessis, an experienced editor and publisher, as well as former solicitor and design studio manager. Lisette is a graduate of the Whitireia Postgraduate Diploma in Publishing course, during which she interned at Te Papa and Gecko presses. Lisette went on to work as editor at internationally renowned New Zealand publisher Blackwell & Ruth, as well as a freelance editor and independent publisher. Lisette is a student of te reo Māori and also speaks French, German and Spanish. Lisette holds an LLB/BA (First Class Honours in European Studies) from Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury.
When managing communications and publishing projects, Lisette has found there is always an ongoing need to find good external editorial support.
So she developed Dash, with a vision that it become a trusted go-to for clients seeking efficient solutions to their editorial needs.
Through Dash, Lisette and her trusted collaborators have worked with a very wide range of people and organisations, in all kinds of fields, including:
businesses large and small;
government departments;
not-for-profits;
council organisations;
publishers; and
self-publishers.
Lisette lives and works in Lyttelton, New Zealand, where she shares a beautiful heritage office space with several creative producers. She is the mother of two little booklovers.
